Interns will provide support for agency’s broad client roster
ATLANTA – November 2020 – Cookerly Public Relations, one of Atlanta’s oldest and most respected public relations agencies, today welcomed fall interns Kayla Mackenzie and Julianne Bennett.
Kayla Mackenzie
A graduate of Georgia State University, Mackenzie holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations. She comes to the agency from seven years in the live events industry where she refined her communications and client relations skills in promoting and producing events for national corporations and leading trade associations. Most recently, she provided strategic and written communication assistance to organizations advocating for the industry in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“My years in live events taught me the importance of clear, concise and strong communication and instilled a drive to connect with people on a personal level,” says Mackenzie.
Outside of her professional interests, she enjoys cooking, traveling, running, and getting caught up in a good book.
Julianne Bennett
A recent University of Kentucky graduate, Bennett earned a bachelor’s degree in integrated strategic communication, specializing in public relations with a minor in dance. She completed study abroad coursework at Arcadia University in London and hopes to refine her writing, social media and marketing abilities and attain new skills during her internship.
Beyond her interest in public relations, Bennett teaches yoga, loves to travel, enjoys opportunities to practice French and spend time with her family and dogs.
“We are delighted to have Kayla and Julianne join our team,” said Cookerly President Stephen Brown. “We strive to assure our interns are exposed to agency life in ways that help them understand our industry and develop a knowledge base from which they can draw inspiration throughout their careers.”
