Steve Jobs changed our PeRception of technology by transforming it into something that is a part of our daily lives. As the mastermind behind most of Apple’s greatest achievements, from the first Macintosh computer to the iPad, he created devices and software that not only changed the way we are able to access information, but also the way technology can influence popular culture. Recognizing the power of the press (and, later, social media) made him a true marketing/PR genius, which contributed to the success of the Apple brand and customer fanaticism.
While Jobs was an ingenious individual, constantly contributing to the technology industry and reconstructing the digital age, his infamous quotes, or “Jobs-isms”, will be how I commemorate his passing (in addition to my handy iPod, of course).
Minutes after hearing news about Jobs’ passing, I saw a plethora of his most memorable words posted on Twitter and Facebook, in newspapers, on blogs and other outlets. Many of these quotes not only inspired me to want to continue to impact others daily, but also reminded me of how Cookerly Public Relations is successful with impacting its clients and making a difference in their businesses.
Take a few of these for example:
- Our staff practices perseverance and never gives up. Your goal is our goal too.
“If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relations, it just gets better as the years roll on.”
“I’m convinced that about half of what separates the successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful ones is pure perserverance.”
- We understand the importance of strong leadership and teamwork. After all, there is no “I” in teamwork!
“My model for business is the Beatles: They were the four guys that kept each other’s negative tendencies in check; they balanced each other. And the total was greater than the sum of their parts.
- We strive to produce quality work at all times to provide our clients with the best results. Happy clients equal success.
“Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn’t matter to me. Going to bed at night saying we’ve done something wonderful, that’s what matters to me.”
- One of our President’s –isms is “don’t overthink it.” Because of this, we work hard, but we also have fun with our job.
“We’re just enthusiastic about what we do.”
These are just a few ways that I believe some of my favorite quotes from Steve Jobs’ align with Cookerly’s values and work ethics. Do you have a favorite Jobs’ quote? Tell us!
